Who am I and why a blog?

My name is Jani Stefanovic and I´m a guitarist/composer and i´ve been active in the metal music scene since early 2000´s with a personal discography record of a 30+ albums released through different established record labels through out the years. I´m a musician but I´m also a music lover and I love music in all its different shapes and forms.

So why a blog? I have had this on my mind since years back. I did start out making a few Youtube reviews but the amount of work it takes to shoot and edit did turn out to be too time consuming at the moment. A bad timing for me when I´m still very much writing music and releasing music with various acts. However writing down your thoughts might work easier.

Reading reviews started as a teenager reading reviews of your favourite bands or then reading a review and through that find new band to explore. As I started to release own albums you read reviews of your own work, alot of good but also a fair share of bad reviews, you can´t please em all. 

My spin on things is that I will give my thoughts about releases and bands out of my experience and perspective, drawing insight from what experience and knowledge i´ve gathered both as a musician and as a mixing engineer throughout my career. I will be brutally honest, however my aim and purpose is not to come off an elitist 'know it all' type of thing. These are just my personal opinions and derives out of my personal preferences in music. No truths and there´s no right or wrongs, just a matter of different tastes. Bands releasing material to the public immediately becomes open targets for evaluation and critique and perhaps I might be able to give a different spin on things.
